What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based psychotherapy for the treatment of traumas. EMDR utilizes standardized protocols that incorporate elements from many different treatment approaches. EMDR is a mental health intervention and is only offered by properly trained and licensed mental health clinicians.

What are the benefits?

Uncomfortable feelings, negative emotions and undesirable behaviors are usually driven by unresolved experiences that are adversely impacting your relationships, holding you back in your career, or keeping you from reaching your personal goals. You may not even be aware of how these experiences are connected to your present-day challenges as they are held in the unconscious memory. EMDR allows you the opportunity to uncover and process the unresolved experiences so that they are no longer as disturbing. The goal of EMDR therapy is to leave you with the emotions, understanding, and perspectives that will lead to healthy and useful behaviors and personal interactions.
